DESCRIPTION:
Given the prevalence of physical and sexual traumas among female populations, patients presenting for treatment in reproductive medicine clinics are likely to have a history of trauma. Additionally, the experience of infertility and reproductive loss are often viewed as traumatic by patients. Special consideration for the provision of trauma-informed care to fertility patients is necessary to provide patient centered care which does not re-traumatize patients and does promote healing.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Review risks of IVF pregnancies
- Consider implications of cycle type on preeclampsia risk
- Discuss pregnancy surveillance after an IVF conception
